Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Ability to work with one's hands.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to communicate fluently in English.
- Retail or customer service experience is an asset.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and willing to take initiative, while at the same time responding to the direction of the Shop Manager.
- Strong interpersonal skills, willing and able to work & relate with a variety of people; friendly, outgoing and appreciative of both volunteers and customers.
- Ability to practice flexibility and work collaboratively as a team.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic handi-man and furniture repair skills are an asset.
- Satisfactory criminal record clearance.
- Valid BC Driver's licence accompanied by a clean driving record.
- Commitment to wearing steel-toed boots and proper work gloves.
- Ability to reflect and express Anabaptist beliefs and the value of service.
- Ability to articulate MCC’s beliefs, mission and purpose to customers and donors.
- Ability to contribute to the development of a positive culture based on Christian beliefs and values.
- Satisfactory criminal record clearance.
